Charlie Murphy at the Comical Radio Studio

from Comical Radio · host Chris Iacono, Danny Lobell

Godfrey stuck around for the next guest calling in, Charlie Murphy, who said he had been spending the last few months digging through his crates for audio of jokes he has told and really liked. He said he plans to cut them together to create a comedy album, “Digging Through the Crates.” Murphy defended himself as Danny attempted to incite an argument, accusing Eddie Murphy of not helping Charlie the way that Chris Rock helps Tony. Murphy said he preferred to have gotten his break from Chappelle and that it garnered him more respect, respect he apparently could not gain from covering himself in chains and rings at a Gotham Comedy Club show. Lessons were learned, and then Murphy creepily vowed to remain friends with Chappelle whether or not his friendship was welcome, much like Danny and the crew remain friends with the comedians on the show.
