This episode we interview close friend and special guest Charlie Samuels, an award-winning filmmaker and photographer. In addition to directing, filming and producing an amazing, award-winning documentary titled "Virgin Blacktop," an "often thrilling and sometimes heart-breaking coming-of-age story" (IMDB) about his friends as they grew up in the world of competitive skating in 1970's New York and beyond, he has worked in a photojournalistic capacity with Sports Illustrated, Elle, Time, Vogue, Fortune, GQ, Road & Track, People as well as The New York Times where he’s been a contributor. His images are featured in the seminal book “FULL BLEED”, on a Supreme x Comme des Garçons clothing line, Burton snowboards and, not to mention, Vans shoes. He’s photographed President Obama, Hillary Clinton, John Kerry, Al Gore, Henry Kissinger, has covered The White House, The United Nations, the X-Games, the Olympics, NFL Football, FIFA Soccer and the US Open. Charlie’s images have been exhibited around the world, printed on numerous products and in many books.
