Protesters gathered in Charlotte's University area on Wednesday, voicing opposition to ongoing Border Patrol operations and sharing personal stories of family members deported to Mexico.Maria Bautista joined demonstrators carrying signs and chanting "No more CBP," driven by memories of her father, who was deported to Mexico last year."I don't want anyone else to feel how I felt and I just feel that this is injustice and it's not ok to be ripping people away from their family," Bautista said.The demonstration aimed to send a message that members of the Latino community should not live in fear, organizers said.
