Chasing Location, Not The Money
from The Check-In
Benjamin Davis turned his Google Ads freelancing into JB Marketing because being able to pack a bag and leave was the point, not the money. Benjamin started JB Marketing, a Google Ads agency for e-commerce brands, just under a year ago with his business partner James. The first five or six months ran without any real tracking of revenue, profit, or fulfilment cost. Growth was strong but there was no centralised storage of data and no clear view of the numbers. He built an internal portal that holds every client, retainer, and process in one place. Now the team tracks profit per employee, profit per client, tooling costs, and uses RAG ratings with CSAT scores to time referral asks. Benjamin plans to keep travelling long-term while only building portal features that the team requests or that move the business. He will only hire when the tracked client numbers say it is time, not on gut feeling.
