Check Your Motives (Matt 6.1-8) - 6-26-22

"Check Your Motives" - Psalm 51:1-19 and Matthew 6:1-8How many of us do things for recognition? Recognition in and of itself is not bad. It can tell others that they can do it also. It can serve as a way to encourage others. The Bible says, don't do charitable deeds or good deeds ONLY to be seen by others. We ALL must check our motives.The Pharisees were religious looking but their hearts were not right. Humans see the actions of man, but God sees the heart of man. Rather than a motive of caring for people, some only do things to gain POWER and PRESTIGE. Matt 6.2 says they already have their reward.Having the right motive brings God honor! When we do things to please God, with a humble spirit, we will receive our reward from God himself. The Lord sees our actions and know our motives! God wants us to come to Him with a humble and contrite heart, with PURE MOTIVES. Let's be sincere in our prayers, praying in God's will! God is moved by a PURE heart!Let us ALL check our motives with Jesus Christ, listen to what He reveals, and seek Him to help us to make the adjustments need to be in RIGHT standing with Him!
