Cheeks to Lead Badgers' Pass Rush | Wisconsin Badgers Football News

Sebastian Cheeks is poised to be Wisconsin’s most impactful pass rusher this season, stepping into a leadership role as a fifth-year standout with the potential to dominate the edge. Already showing flashes of elite athleticism and quickness, he’s expected to build on his 2023 breakout—where he tallied 24 tackles, 5.5 TFLs, and 3 sacks in just three starts. With the outside linebacker corps lacking proven talent, Cheeks’ ability to generate quarterback pressure and set the tone will be vital to the Badgers’ defensive success. While projections point to a breakout year with 5-10 sacks and 30+ tackles, the pressure to deliver could be immense. Still, most analysts see him as a reliable, impactful contributor—likely matching Mason Reiger’s 2023 output—making him the heartbeat of Wisconsin’s pass rush in 2024.
