The transfer is valued at around £7.5 million ($8.8 million), with Martínez set to sign a two-year contract plus an option for a third. At 33, he’s poised to become Chelsea’s new No. 1 as the club rebuilds its squad — and his proven pedigree and experience could be exactly what they need to compete at the highest level.
