Cheney’s Overtime Win Over Titans | Spokane News

Cheney Blackhawks stunned the University Titans in a heart-pounding overtime thriller, winning 31-28 thanks to a clutch 35-yard field goal by junior kicker Ethan Tinnon—after his brother steadied him following an earlier miss. U-Hi clawed back from an eight-point deficit with a last-second touchdown and two-point conversion to force OT, but a fumble on their first possession handed Cheney the win. Coach John Graham praised the team’s growth after a tough opener, noting the loss helped build resilience despite playing young talent. The game was a seesaw battle, with Cheney leading early, U-Hi rallying with an interception TD, and both teams trading blows before OT. This gritty victory keeps Cheney atop their division standings and sets the tone for a playoff-contending season.
