Cherry Falls (2000) — "This isn't a signature. It's a message."
from The Kulturecast · host Weirding Way Media
We kick off 2001: A Horrortober Odyssey with one of the forgotten pre-2001 slashers, a film that never even got a theatrical release: Cherry Falls. Brittany Murphy stars in the story of a small town coming to terms with a serial killer in its midst. When it's discovered that the killer only targets teenage virgins, a wave of insanity engulfs the town and builds to a finale that needs to be seen to be believed. It's part satire, part slasher, and utterly ridiculous. We get into the film, Brittany Murphy's acting career, and why the film never got its due. The One Season Show's Jess Byard joins Chris Stachiw, the Doctor of Podcasting, to talk Cherry Falls, Brittany Murphy, forgotten slashers, and so much more.
