Chess Prodigy Dies, and the International Chess Federation Investigates a Former World Champion

from Real-Time Crime · host iHeartPodcasts

A tragic story in the world of chess, as 29-year-old Chess Grandmaster Daniel Naroditsky was found dead this week at his home in Charlotte. As of this recording, there is no official cause of death, but late this week police acknowledged they were investigating his death as a possible drug overdose/suicide. Meantime, much of the chess world is pointing fingers at 50-year-old former chess World Champion, Vladimir Kramnik who has viciously, repeatedly and baselessly accused Naroditsky of cheating over the years. The International Chess Federation announced it was investigating Kramnik for his public comments before and after Naroditsky’s death, but many say it’s too little, too late.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
