“Gesù era un ebreo che non voleva fondare una nuova religione. Era convinto che il Dio delle Sacre Scritture ebraiche stesse cominciando a trasformare il mondo per instaurare finalmente il suo regno sulla terra. Era del tutto concentrato su Dio e pregava per capire la sua volontà e ottenere le sue rivelazioni, ma era anche del tutto concentrato sui bisogni degli uomini, in particolare i malati, i più poveri e coloro che erano trattati in modo ingiusto. Il suo messaggio era inscindibilmente mistico e sociale. Il regno di Dio non venne e, anzi, egli fu messo a morte dai romani per motivi politici. I suoi discepoli, che provenivano da ambienti i più vari, ne diedero fin dagli inizi interpretazioni differenti. Si interrogarono sulla sua morte fornendo spiegazioni diverse e molti di loro si convinsero che egli fosse risuscitato. Un certo numero dei suoi seguaci rimase dentro le comunità ebraiche, mentre altri diedero vita a una nuova religione percorsa da diverse correnti, il cristianesimo”.Questo il pensiero del Professor Mauro Pesce che in questo racconto in serie, per Storiainpodcast, approfondisce le vicende di uno dei personaggi più importanti della storia: il rapporto con Giovanni Battista, la predicazione, le parabole, i miracoli, la morte.
