Send us Fan MailTRIGGER WARNING: One of the tales in this episode mentions a tragedy at a performance and briefly talks about the patrons at the show being crushed. We recorded this episode before the AstroWorld tragedy and our hearts go out to those effected by it.Malcom joins us for another episode! Tori starts us off with the story of Jane Addams and Hull House in Chicago. A mainstay of social justice and reform Jane made a place to help those less fortunate than her and built a community around it. Enter the devil baby of Hull House. This tale has many parallels with another devil baby from New Jersey. Continuing on smartly Tori tells the tale of the Iriquois Theatre, also in Chicago, and the fire that changed fire codes round the country. This theater made the mistake that the Titantic did and declared it “fire proof.” In the span of 45 minutes the theater was gutted and 602 of the 1700 patrons at the production had lost their lives. Death Alley behind the theatre continues to see paranormal activity to this day. Krysti moves on to Devil’s Backbone and Devil’s Bake Oven in Grand Tower Illinois. River Pirates, indigenous peoples, and poor choices by settlers abound in this tale. Esmerelda and her lost love seems to still hang out at the rock. Another disastrous love story later, we have hordes of ghosts wading up onto shore to hand a prophecy to a child. Another revenge story goes with the location as well. Enter Krys’s next tale of a corrupt religious leader that fled from Germany to the area around Devil’s Bake Oven. Let’s just say this man had several choices after being caught in his corrupt behavior and deciding that gtfo was the best option. Several of the stories have odd tie ins with some of our other stories. Our Sources: Illinoishauntedhouses.com, Hauntedillinois.com (Troy Taylor), Heartlandweekend.com, Splatteredink.co, Lutheranmuseum.com, Dailyegyptian.com, Weird Illinois, wikipedia.org, nobelprize.org, windycityghosts.com, chicagonow.com, ghostwalks.com, haunteddetective.com, smithsonianmag.com, atlasobcura.com, werewoofs.com                                                                    Our theme music: “Danse Macabre - Busy Strings" Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com)Licensed under Creative Commons: By Attribution 3.0 http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/ Support our show on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/trendylobotomypodcast Find us at FB/Instagram @TrendyLobotomyPod and at Twitter @TrendyPod as well as our blog trendylobotomypodcast.blogspot.com Support the show
