Child Abuse

The webcast will discuss Child Abuse. Child maltreatment is under-recognized and under-diagnosed, especially in young infants for whom identification of injuries could be lifesaving. This presentation describes the epidemiology of child physical abuse, signs and symptoms to indicate concerns for abuse across different ages, and appropriate evaluation for occult injuries. Finally, strategies to improve recognition of abusive injuries while reducing bias in evaluation for abuse will be discussed. Link to transcript
