“Children are Born Persons”: A Conversation w/ Beth Young on Children, Education, and the Philosophy of Charlotte Mason

K-12 education has been disrupted at an unprecedented scale this year. Few options facing parents are straightforward or reliable or without obvious drawbacks. Virtual, in-person, hybrid? Parents are stressed, some are trying online school, others have opted to homeschool, others are just praying as their children head off to be in large groups for hours and hours each day during a pandemic. In this uncertain climate, I sit down with my friend, Beth Young, to talk about why this is a perfect moment for parents to take a deep breath and reflect on what education is all about and what we hope for our kids in the long-run.
