School boards often slash music budgets, in favour of readin’, writin’ & ‘rithmetic budgets, when they find themselves in financial difficulty. Parents cite the excuse for not enrolling their children in piano, violin, guitar lessons etc., “ I can’t afford it”. We all know that 99% of all parents are concerned with the future well-being of their children. That’s why Moms & Dads all over the world encourage their kids to do well in school, listen to the teacher, go to college etc., all of this in the hopes that they’ll acquire friends, get good jobs and ultimately be successful in their lives. However  most parents, fail to recognize that it’s not education in and of itself that augers well for success, but rather it’s one’s mindset that determines how successful you will be in life...for parents  and children both.
