Chill Factor (1999)

What happens when you mix Skeet Ulrich, Cuba Gooding Jr., a military bioweapon, and an ice cream truck? Jackie and Danielle from No More Late Fees are rewinding to 1999 to revisit the action-thriller Chill Factor—the cult flop that tried to be Speed but ended up frozen in time. In this episode, we dive into: • The over-the-top plot where “Elvis” must stay below 50 degrees or explode • Skeet Ulrich and Cuba Gooding Jr.’s buddy-action chemistry (or lack thereof) • Box office trivia, critical reception, and why Roger Ebert wasn’t impressed • Behind-the-scenes tidbits and filming locations that may surprise you • Nostalgic throwbacks to late ’90s movie culture, from VHS shelves to cult TV crossovers • Fandom hot takes, quotable moments, and our signature Blockbuster-inspired ratings If you love nostalgic movie rewatches packed with trivia, funny commentary, and just the right amount of sass, this episode is for you.
