A 200-pound chimpanzee raised as a family pet went completely ballistic after being given Xanax, savagely mauling a woman and leaving her permanently disfigured. On February 16, 2009, Travis the chimp attacked his owner's friend, Charla Nash, tearing off her face, hands, and eyes when she tried to help get him back inside. The Xanax, intended to calm him, may have triggered the psychotic break.
