In this podcast, Dr. Ron Dummar discusses the history of TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) -- and how he utilizes it to heal patients today.A Chinese medical provider is able to support the body to be as healthy as possible,even when disease is present. This allows the Chinese medical practitioner to providesupportive care for patients with serious illnesses such as cancer, hepatitis and AIDS.The specific pain reducing impact of acupuncture and some Chinese herbs makes themideal for the treatment of chronic pain. In China, acupuncture is practiced side by sidewith Western medicine in hospitals and clinics. In the United States, Chinese medicine is also becoming increasingly integrated with biomedical practices and is often used inconjunction with medical treatments and psychological care.A TCM practise that dates back more than a millennium led to the discovery of the anti-malarial drug artemisinin, (qinghaosu) from the plant Artemisia annua (Asteraceae). This discovery led to Professor Youyou’s 2015 Nobel Prize.--Who is Dr. Dummar? He's a licensed Chiropractic Physician who holds a masters degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. Dr. Dummar selected a scientific, evidence-based program for his Chiropractic training and additionally completed more than 3,000 hours of training in Acupuncture and Medicinal Herbs. As the founder of Community Health and Wellness, he is dedicated to evidence-based healing and pain relief.
