Chippewa Street Shutdown Explained | Buffalo News

Buffalo’s Chippewa Street is shutting down this weekend as Mayor Sean Ryan declares the area has spiraled into chaos—calling it more like a “drinking fight club” than a nightlife hub. With $1 million already spent on overtime policing, the city’s rolling out new crowd control measures, while bar owners blame loiterers in parking lots for the violence. A viral video of Deputy Police Commissioner Craig Macy pushing someone has sparked backlash, though the mayor says it was amid a chaotic brawl and vows a full investigation. The goal? Restore order and make Chippewa a place people can actually enjoy again. Listen in comfort: Get a discount on a Soli Pillow: http://solipillow.com/discount/dnn.
