Chisme#53: Vinny's passion to create music and unite communities. |Vinny Rivera-Singer/Songwriter

from Chisme That Matters Podcast · host Chisme that Matters

Hola Mi gente! I had the amazing pleasure to have a little chisme with the one and only Vinny Rivera, who is a singer and songwriter in the urban music world. He mostly sings Bachata and Kizomba songs, which are danced all over the world.  In this episode, he shares his artistic journey and how pursuing his passion for music, not only fulfills him but unites communities all over the world.  WHO IS VINNY?  Born in Boston, Massachusetts to Puerto Rican parents mentored by his Dominican stepfather, Victor Rivera also known as “Vinny Rivera” is one of the hardest working singer/songwriters. Being raised in the city’s melting pot, he was exposed to a variety of musical genres such as Reggae, Jazz, Soca, R&B, Kizomba and Pop, as well as the sounds of his native and neighboring island of Dominican Republic absorbing the sounds of Salsa, Merengue, and Bachata. As a DJ at 16, he began listening intensively and studied all types of music and later connected with friends and began recording and releasing songs, eventually opening shows with a self titled group called “Vinny Dinky & Crazy Joe” aka “Miwe Productions” for world renowned acts, such as Nicky Jam, Wisin & Yandel, Zion & Lennox, Ivy Queen, to name a few. Vinny later joined the United States Air Force and his experience in Afghanistan had taught him many lessons about life and the value of time. After serving four years active duty, he focused on his music career working closely and learning from his friends and mentors such as DereVinci, Grammy winning Producer Richy Peña, Jowell y Randy, Ivy Queen, De La Ghetto, and long time friend Jorgie Milliano. He eventually found his place as a pioneer of Latin Kizomba but focused his energy on a new sound that is “Bachata Sensual”, catering to a passionate audience of dancers and music listeners alike. His growing base of fans from all parts of the world have allowed him to tour in the United States, Mexico, Europe, and Russia, and the list of places continues to grow. Vinny Rivera’s singing and writing abilities have captured the respect and attention of audiences around the world and his passion for music only grows as he continues to give his best to his fans.
