Hola, hello mi gente!  On this chisme, I had the amazing pleasure to chat with Money & Business Coach, Lucia Ortega. We talked about the struggles of not only being a first gen but also being the one to break barriers, the one who wants to take the unconventional route to become fulfilled.  Lucia is a first-gen Mexican American. She is the first-one in her family to attend college and become a professional. In 2018, when her paternal grandfather got sick, she noticed her dad struggled emotionally and financially. She quickly realized she had to gain control of her finances and also increased her income. She then started a Party Rental Business in Los Angeles. In 2020, she started to create content on personal finance and then became coaching others to gain control of their finances and start their businesses. She taught for 5 years and have recently quit and now started a food business with her mom in South Los Angeles. Her goal is to empowered other first-gens, women, BIPOC, and LGBTQ+ folks become empowered to build wealth. You can follow Lucia on Instagram and her website.
