Chokhmah (Wisdom) Psalm 111

Send us Fan Mail"Fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom" our Psalm says today. But there is more to 'fear of the Lord' than the surface level, English translation where we imagine being scared. In Hebrew the word for fear (yirah) is also translated as reverence and respect. So, to hold God in the highest regard with reverence and respect is the beginning of wisdom. Acknowledging that God is Holy and greater beyond all our human understanding and imagining, thereby recognizing our place in the created order under God, is the beginning of understanding and living into wisdom.
