President John S.K. Kauwe III encouraged us to “choose excellence” by using our moral agency wisely and being quick to observe: noticing, obeying, and acting on promptings. He urged students to care for their mental and physical health, take charge of their testimonies and learning, and build their futures._____President John S.K. Kauwe III has served as the president of Brigham Young University–Hawaii since July 2020. Before his appointment at BYU–Hawaii, President Kauwe served as a professor, department chair, and dean at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah.
