We are responsible for the thoughts we entertain, the words we speak, the plans we make, and the actions we take. We have the freedom to choose how we show up in the world and the responsibility to choose the path we walk. So, what’s it going to be? We can choose to live our lives in fear, driven by anger and resentment. We can attempt to soothe ourselves by embracing our greed and lust. We can attempt to protect ourselves by seeking money, power, and status using violence and exploitation when necessary. These choices lead to misery, destruction, and death. Alternatively, in every situation we can choose to take the pathway that is illuminated by the lights of faith, hope, and love. We can choose to persevere . We can choose to be joyful. We can choose gentleness, generosity, and patience. We can choose to embrace a vision for the world that is bigger than ourselves, and follow the paths that lead to life. Choose the paths that lead to life. I’m Horace McMillon.
