CHOOSE YOUR SPIRIT

Ephesians 5:18 (HCSB)Don’t get drunk with wine, which leads to reckless actions, but be filled by the Spirit. People often wonder, Can I drink alcohol? What they are really after is permission. Yes, you can drink alcohol. God won’t dispatch an angel from Heaven to wire your mouth shut or close down every beer hall in your neighbourhood. The better question is, Should I drink alcohol?Let me answer this way. Alcohol is a nervous system depressant. That’s why when people drink, it affects their speech, balance, vision, judgment, decision-making and thinking ability. Even if you’re not fully drunk, your entire being is influenced by just one drink.The Bible tells us that the Holy Ghost wants to affect those very areas. Now, here’s the problem: He will not compete with another spirit. You must decide which spirit will influence you—alcohol or the Holy Spirit. Instead of giving alcohol the potential to control you, choose to be filled with the Holy Spirit. Make a daily commitment to let Him influence every part of your life.PROPHETIC DECLARATIONI do not give control to anything that would depress my body, mind, or spirit.
