Choosing a Purpose Driven Career with Dr. Taraka Ramji Moturu PhD

from The Lova Show · host Riccardo Lovatini

In the first English episode of the podcast, I talked with Dr. Taraka Ramji Moturu PhD, a plant scientist and entrepreneur working here in Brussels, Belgium. We talked about how he discovered his interest in science at an early age, and how social pressure can sidetrack the search for what the real push out of our existence is. Most of the times, we do not choose the things we are interested in, they choose us. We presented some strategies to help that self-discovery, like: Identifying the things you care about. Reflecting on what matters most. Recognizing your strengths and talents. Trying volunteering. Cultivating some good habits, like journaling and exercise. Finally, we discussed an article by Peter Drucker, an American management scholar, and his great advice for young professionals to help in the self-knowledge quest: Know your strengths, Know how do you perform, Know your values, and Know what should your contribution be. You can find Taraka Ramji on LinkedIn.   Thank you for listening, see you in the next one!
