Choosing a Youth Football Quarterback
from Coach Parker's Coaching Youth Football Tips and Talk Podcast · host Stephen Parker
Welcome to the new episode, Choosing a Youth Football Quarterback on Coach Parker's Coaching Youth Football Tips and Talk Podcast. A Social Media Subscriber asked me a few weeks ago what do I look for in a youth football QB? Good question and a tough one. We have 3 weeks of practice and scrimmages to choose. We are usually looking at 2 to 3 players for QB and get down to 2. We already know our QB Profile for our offensive scheme. We run more Single Wing Wildcat style offenses so not a huge issue for QB. Older teams we will run Spread and look for more of a traditional QB with our Wildcat back. May find a great QB once every few years…. You must DEVELOPMENT your youth football QBs! Mainly I look for a Smart, Ball Manager, that I Trust with the football. More detail….
