Choosing Kindness - with Ms. H
from Holy Moly Podcastaroony Hosted by Rick Liston
In this episode of Holy Moly Podcastaroony, I interview my classroom teacher Ms. H about her teaching journey and what inspires her. She shares that she loved teaching kinder and now also loves teaching grade 5/6, saying primary school is where her passion lies. We talk about funny kinder moments, including a child telling her hair felt like straw, and why she moved to Badger Creek Primary School to reconnect with students and a school community she loved. Ms. H reflects on her first kindergartners, how students inspire her daily (including my motivational quotes on the whiteboard), and why school feels like a second home. She explains she became a teacher because every child deserves to be heard, cared for, and educated, says she’d be an interior designer if not teaching, and emphasizes choosing kindness and respecting everyone because you never know what someone is going through.00:00 Welcome and Introductions00:14 Teaching Grades Compared01:01 Funniest Kinder Moments01:46 Joining Badger Creek02:17 First Class Reflections02:51 Bush Kinder Memories03:55 Chicken Excursion Story04:28 Inspired by Students05:35 Why Teaching Matters06:46 Life Beyond Teaching08:15 Choose Kindness Always09:45 Connections and Role Models10:35 Proud and Parting Advice11:32 Thanks and Goodbye
