Choosing Love Today: Enduring Faith - Episode 17: Noah: Obedience without Evidence

Can you remember a time in your life where, maybe a parent, or someone in authority asked you to do something that you didn't understand or just didn't make any sense at all? I think all of us could probably say yes to that.   Well...Noah had that moment. God tells him, “I want you to build a boat… because I’m sending rain.” And Noah had to be thinking, “Rain? What in the world is rain?” What in the world is that supposed to mean? He had never seen it. Nobody had. The earth had never experienced it. So, God is asking Noah to prepare for something he couldn’t even picture, couldn’t explain, and couldn’t compare to anything he’d ever seen. And yet Noah kept building. Sometimes God’s promises don’t come with explanations. Sometimes they don’t come with details. Sometimes they don’t even make sense. They just come with a calling: Trust Me enough to obey even when you don’t understand. Every day Noah walked outside and saw the same dry ground. Every day he hammered another board with no sign of rain. Every day he trusted a promise that looked impossible. And people around him probably laughed, questioned him, maybe even avoided him. But Noah wasn’t building based on what he saw — he was building based on what God said. Paul reminds us in Romans that God’s faithfulness isn’t measured by speed or clarity — it’s measured by certainty. God doesn’t rush. God doesn’t panic. God doesn’t forget. When He speaks, He fulfills. When He promises, He delivers. When He begins something, He finishes it. Maybe you’re at a time in your life where God is asking you to trust something you don’t fully understand. Maybe He’s nudging you toward a step that doesn’t make sense yet. Maybe you’re waiting on something that feels slow, silent, or confusing. Noah felt that too. But God wasn’t late. God wasn’t unclear. God wasn’t absent. He was working — just not in a way Noah could see yet. And when the time was right, the sky opened, the rain fell, and the promise came to pass exactly the way God said it would. So today, let Noah remind you: My friends...Just because you don’t understand it doesn’t mean God isn’t in it. Just because you don’t see movement doesn’t mean God isn’t working. Just because the timeline feels slow doesn’t mean the promise is slipping away. Hold steady. Keep building. Keep trusting.   God keeps His promises....and Keep Choosing Love Today.
