Choosing Love Today: Enduring Faith - Episode 23: 5 Loaves & 2 Fish

Have you ever noticed how God seems to love working through the small stuff? Not the big, flashy moments… but the quiet ones. The ones most people walk right past. There’s a story in the Gospel of John that’s always grabbed me. Jesus is teaching a huge crowd — thousands of people — and everyone’s hungry. The disciples are stressed, trying to figure out how to feed all these people because Jesus had just told them to feed them. And then this kid shows up. Just a kid. No title. No status. No seemingly no importance in the story, But he’s holding a small lunch. Five loaves of bread and Two fish. That’s it. In the middle of a massive need, this little lunch looks almost laughable. Insignificant. Not enough to matter. Not enough to fix anything. But Jesus takes what looks small… and turns it into something big. He blesses it. He breaks it. He multiplies it. And suddenly thousands of people are fed — not just barely fed, but fed with leftovers. And here’s the part that gets me: The miracle started with something tiny. Something so ordinary. Something most people would’ve ignored.........a kid’s lunch. I want you to think about that the nest time when your going through your day and you feel like the little things don’t matter:   How about: holding a door open for somebody and letting them go in 1st, how about letting someone merge into the lane in front of you, how about waving a “thank you” to the person that person that let you merge in to their lane. Here's a good one... send a text to someone today for no reason at all just letting them know you were thinking about them and it made you smile. Here's a hard one for a lot of people …..as you're walking, look up, and look at the person coming at you and look them in the eye and just say “hello” and give a little smile.   Now, most of the time, you'll never hear about it again. You won’t get a thank-you. You won’t get a story and you won’t get any proof that it mattered. But every now and then…just every now, you will. Every now and then someone tells you, “I really needed that today.” Or “You have no idea how much that helped.” Or “That changed my whole morning.” And suddenly you realize something: God still multiplies small things. (and I got to be a part of it). A transformed life isn’t always loud. It’s not always dramatic. It’s not always a big “before and after” kind of moment. Sometimes it’s just choosing love in the small places. Choosing kindness when nobody’s watching. Choosing patience when it’s inconvenient. Choosing to give God your “little lunch” — whatever you have — and trusting Him to do something with it. So today, don’t underestimate the small stuff. God never does. He’s been using small things to make big differences for a long, long time.   So how will you.....keep Choosing Love Today?
