Choosing Love Today: Enduring Faith - Episode 7: Faith That Remembers God's Faithfulness
from Choosing Love Today · host Mike Morrison
Let me ask you a question...does it aggravate you when you do something for someone and it gets to the point they always seem to just take it for granted or that it almost seems like it's expected of you to continue to keep doing it for them? That's a great question for us to explore today and I'd like talk to you a little about that. One of the quiet challenges of faith is this: We forget. We forget what God has done. We forget how He’s carried us. We forget the prayers He’s answered. We forget the moments He showed up when we didn’t expect it. We forget the ways He’s been faithful — not because we don’t care, but because life moves fast and pressure gets loud. And when life gets heavy, forgetting makes everything feel heavier. That’s why Scripture talks so much about remembering. Over and over, God tells His people, “Don’t forget what I’ve done. Don’t forget how I brought you through. Don’t forget how I kept you.” Not because He needs the credit — but because we need the reminder. And hear me on this.....Remembering strengthens your faith, remembering steadies your faith, and Remembering gives faith something solid to stand on. Psalm 77 says, “I will remember the deeds of the Lord; yes, I will remember Your wonders of old.” That’s not nostalgia. That’s survival. That’s someone saying, “I’m facing something hard right now, so I’m going to anchor myself in what I know God has already done.” Sometimes the most spiritual thing you can do is simply remember. Remember the time God gave you peace when you shouldn’t have had any. Remember the time He opened a door you didn’t see coming. Remember the time He carried you through a season you didn’t think you’d survive. Remember the time He provided when you were stretched thin. Remember the time He gave you strength you didn’t have on your own. Those moments aren’t accidents. They’re reminders. They’re anchors. They’re evidence. And when your faith feels tired, or thin, or stretched, remembering becomes fuel. Maybe today you’re facing something that feels bigger than you. Maybe you’re dealing with uncertainty, or pressure, or frustration, or just the weight of life piling up. Maybe you’re trying to trust God, but your emotions are louder than your confidence. If that’s you, take a moment — right now — and remember. Not everything. Not every detail. Just one moment where God was faithful. Let that memory settle in. Let it remind you that the God who carried you then… is the same God carrying you now. Enduring faith isn’t about having perfect confidence. It’s about remembering who God is when life tries to make you forget. So today, don’t rush past what God has already done. Don’t minimize it. Don’t chalk it up to coincidence. Let it strengthen you. Let it steady you. Let it remind you that you’re not walking alone. Because the God who was faithful before… is faithful today… and will be faithful tomorrow. So, take the time to remember, be faithful and as always.....Keep Choosing Love Today!
