Choosing Love Today: Enduring Faith - Episode 9: Faith That Trusts God in the Unknown

Today's episode is one I have to remind myself of over and over gain. And to be completely honest with you, this was a very tough topic for me to wrap my head around before I surrendered my life to Jesus Christ. First of all, I like structure. I'm really not a last minute, do things at the spur of the moment kind of person. If you need my help, please don't ask me at the last minute. Anyone who really knows me...knows last minute “stuff” really gets under my skin, so surprises really aren't my thing. Well, God one that battle of the wills and if my faith was going to grow....I had to (as the saying goes) “Let go and let God”. One of the hardest places for faith to stand is in the unknown. We like clarity. We like plans. We like knowing what’s coming next. And when life hands us a situation where we don’t have answers, don’t have direction, or don’t have control… that’s when faith gets tested. The unknown has a way of making us feel small. It makes us second-guess ourselves. It makes us wonder if we’re doing the right thing. It makes us worry about what we can’t see. But here’s the truth: Faith isn’t built in certainty. Faith is built in the unknown. Proverbs 3:5 says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.” That’s not a verse for people who have everything figured out. That’s a verse for people standing in the middle of something unclear — something confusing — something they can’t map out. Trusting God in the unknown doesn’t mean pretending everything is fine. It doesn’t mean ignoring reality. It doesn’t mean shutting off your emotions. Trusting God in the unknown means saying, “Lord, I don’t see the whole picture, but I’m going to trust that You do.” It means taking the next step even when you don’t see step two. It means believing God is working even when you can’t feel it. It means remembering His character when your circumstances feel shaky. And here’s the part we forget: The unknown is not unknown to God. He sees the whole path. He sees the outcome. He sees the purpose. He sees what this season is shaping in you. Maybe today you’re like I was (and sometimes still struggle with) and that's facing something unclear — a decision you’re trying to make, a situation you’re trying to navigate, or a future that feels foggy. Maybe you’re doing your best to trust God, but the unknown feels louder than your confidence. If that’s you, hear this: You don’t have to see everything to trust God with anything. Your faith doesn’t have to be perfect. Your confidence doesn’t have to be strong. Your emotions don’t have to be calm. You just need to lean — not on your understanding, but on His. Enduring faith isn’t about having all the answers. It’s about trusting the One who does. So today, if you’re standing in the unknown, just know you’re not lost. You’re not forgotten. You’re not walking blind. God is already in the place you’re heading. And He’s guiding you one step at a time. Trust Him in the unknown — He’s already ahead of you....and I for one and so thankful for that!   So, know you're not lost, keep enduring, be faithful and …...Keep Choosing Love Today!
