Choosing Love Today: Ephesians - Part 1 - "Who We Are : Strengthened"

Hi everyone! Welcome to this series of messages I’ve titled “Who We Are.” Let me start with a question for you — something simple, but real: Have you ever had one of those days when you wake up already tired? Not physically tired, but tired on the inside… like your strength ran out before the day even began? If you’ve ever felt that way, Paul has something to say to you — something about who you are in Christ. In Ephesians 3:16, Paul prays that God would strengthen us “with power through His Spirit in the inner man.” That’s not just a prayer — that’s identity. That’s who we are now. We are people strengthened from the inside out. Not by willpower. Not by trying harder. Not by pretending we’re okay. But by the Spirit of God working in the deepest part of us. And I love how Paul says this strength comes “according to the riches of His glory.” That means the supply isn’t based on how strong you and I feel today. It’s not based on how well you slept, how much you’re carrying, or how overwhelmed you might be. It’s based on His riches — His generosity, His faithfulness, His presence. Let me bring this into real life for a moment. Yesterday I had one of those long, chaotic days. You’ve had those days too — days where everything seems to pile up, and you’re doing your best just to keep moving. And when I finally got to bed, I felt that inner tiredness. Not defeated… just worn. And this morning, when I finally got up, I realized something: God didn’t remove the weight of yesterday. He strengthened me to walk into today. That’s what Paul is talking about. Inner strength is quiet strength. It’s steady strength. It’s the strength that helps you take the next step when life feels heavy. It’s the strength that reminds you that you’re not carrying things alone. And that’s who you are in Christ — someone God strengthens. Someone God meets right where life presses the hardest. Someone who doesn’t have to pretend to be strong, because God is strengthening you from the inside out. So, whatever you’re facing today — a decision, a burden, a worry, or just the weight of a long week — remember this: you are strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner man.
