Choosing Love Today: Romans: Enduring Faith - Ep. 2 - A Faith That Lasts

Today we're starting a brand new series of mini-messages on Enduring Faith. We also started a 4 part series on the Book of Romans. So what we going to be doing is breaking down the book of Romans in 4 parts with a new full episode every Tuesday. This will give us the foundation of Romans – the truth of what the gospel is and why it matters. And then on the other 6 days of the week, I'm going to be posting mini-episodes – or short daily messages that are titled Enduring Faith, and they are designed to help you carry that truth into every day life. Let's get started....   As Paul opens Romans, he’s writing to believers living in a world that feels a lot like ours — divided, uncertain, pulled in a hundred directions. These were ordinary men and women trying to follow Jesus in the middle of pressure, culture, and everyday life. Paul begins by reminding them of something simple but powerful: your faith matters, and it’s meant to last. He thanks God for their faith, he celebrates that it’s being talked about everywhere, and he encourages them to keep standing strong in what they’ve already received. Paul isn’t talking to perfect people. He’s talking to people who are trying — people who are learning, growing, stumbling, getting back up, and trusting God one day at a time. How this connects to today We’re living in a world that moves fast, changes fast, and wears people down. It’s easy to feel tired, distracted, or even discouraged. Some days faith feels strong… and some days it feels like you’re hanging on by your fingertips. And if we’re honest, there are moments when we wonder if our faith is enough, or if we’re doing it “right,” or if we’re growing the way we should. But Paul’s message in Romans is that faith isn’t something we manufacture — it’s something God strengthens in us. Faith grows in real life, not in perfect conditions. It grows in the middle of pressure, questions, and everyday challenges. It grows when we choose to trust God even when life feels uncertain. So let me ask you a few questions to think about today: Where have you felt your faith being stretched lately? What part of your life has made you lean on God a little more? And where have you seen—even in small ways—that God is helping you endure? Sometimes the evidence of faith isn’t loud. Sometimes it’s quiet. Sometimes it’s simply the fact that you’re still here, still trusting, still choosing to walk with Him. The message for us today Today’s reminder is simple: your faith doesn’t have to be perfect — it just has to endure. God isn’t asking you to have all the answers. He’s not asking you to feel strong every day. He’s asking you to trust Him in the middle of whatever you’re facing. Enduring faith grows one day at a time, one step at a time, one choice at a time. So, as we begin this mini-series, take a breath. You don’t have to force anything. You don’t have to pretend anything.
