CHOP doctor honored at Rittenhouse memorial 2 years after she was fatally struck by a drunk driver
from KYW Newsradio Audio On-Demand
Friday marked two years since 30-year-old Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia oncology doctor Barbara Friedes was struck and killed by a drunk driver while riding her bike to work. She was in the bike lane wearing a helmet. Sunday’s event took place at 18th and Spruce streets, where the tragedy happened. As KYW Newsradio's Shara Dae Howard tells us, bike advocates and lawmakers joined friends and family of Friedes in Rittenhouse Sunday morning for a memorial to both honor her and bring awareness to bike safety.
