Chris Ballard, a longtime journalist and bestselling author of five books. For two decades he was a Senior Writer at Sports Illustrated, where eight of his stories have been optioned for film and seven were selected for The Best American Sports Writing. He's a finalist for a National Magazine Award, the recipient of the Dan Jenkins Medal for Excellence in Sportswriting, and has taught narrative reporting at the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism.
