Chris Broussard talks media career, Knicks & racism in media on ”Sports and Hip-Hop with DJ Mad Max”

Big thank you to FS1 sports' Chris Broussard for coming on my show for an interview! Chris discussed his time as an athlete playing both football and basketball at Holy Name High School and Oberlin College, his start as a sports writer for The Plain Dealer, and then working for the Akron Beacon Journal covering the Cleveland Cavaliers. In 1998, he began working for The New York Times covering the New Jersey Nets and New York Knicks. He eventually went on to work for ESPN and now has a radio show called The Odd Couple with Rob Parker on FS1 sports. He is also a debater on Undisputed with Skip Bayless and Shannon Sharpe. Chris talked about the first time he heard about LeBron James before he was drafted by the Cleveland Cavaliers, covering LeBron's first game in the NBA, and why Giannis Antetokounmpo's win with the Bucks is more effective than NBA stars that win with a super team around them. We also got into a Knicks discussion, if they may attract star players to come here in the future now, and New York not having talented basketball players anymore. We also had an important discussion to end the show about racism in sports media and all media in general as well as how much black athletes and entertainers play an important role in acceptance in America.
