Chris Carr is Founder and CEO of Farotech, an award-winning marketing strategy agency that has worked with some of the most prominent names in the Philadelphia area and throughout the nation. His story starts earlier on in his life when he almost died after getting lost during a mountain climb in treacherous weather. That experience would be the foundation of his tenacity and future success. In addition to his agency, Chris has led humanitarian efforts overseas, focusing a lot on providing clean water for impoverished communities. Farotech itself actually has an aggressive charity program called Grow to Give that helps developing countries with sustainability projects related to clean water, education, and medical aid. This Episode’s Heavy-Hitters: - On a mountain climb gone wrong, Chris got lost for four days, lost all of his gear and 20 pounds of body weight and was covered in frostbite. - Chris’s favorite interview question is “Are you a cat or a dog person?” - Chris majored in Religious Studies and believes in God, but did not have a particular come to God moment while lost and stranded on the mountain. - Chris started his company Farotech as a result of a breakup he had in college, where he tried to build a website to sell her art to win her back; and discovered digital marketing in the process. - When Chris is hiring, the last leg of his process involves having candidates pitch his own sales script back to him as if he was a client.
