North Carolina lawmakers gave final approval to a new congressional map, a victory for Republicans in the state legislature and beyond who have sought to increase the GOP’s advantage in races for the U.S. House of Representatives in 2026. The North Carolina House of Representatives approved the map in a party-line vote Wednesday, following on the heels of another party-line vote in the state Senate Tuesday. Western Carolina political science professor Chris Cooper joined Jeff Hamlin to discuss the ramifications of the move in the General Assembly.
