Named to the Forbes 30 Under 30 list, Chris is now peeling back his public persona in his new memoir, I Think My Therapist Hates Me, to reveal the messy, complicated truths beneath it. In this episode, Chris opens up about growing up gay and trying to fit in, grappling with the fear of being hated, and navigating the moments when he felt most misunderstood or misrepresented. He also reflects on having his first alcoholic drink at 14, how his struggles with addiction led to two separate stays in rehab, and what scares him most about the things he did while under the influence. Chris shares intimate details about his family’s emotional intervention, including the one letter that was never read to him and what his loved ones saw in him that he couldn’t see in himself at the time.
