Christ a High Priest Forever According to the Order of Melchizedek | 3,650 Minutes of Prayer

This is Day Sixty Seven of 3,650 Minutes of Prayer. Today, we journeyed through Hebrews 7, diving deep into the mystery and superiority of the priesthood of Yeshua HaMashiach. We spent our time exploring how God was intentional in the journey of salvation long before the Mosaic law was ever introduced. Through the figure of Melchizedek, the King of Righteousness and King of Peace, God revealed an eternal order of priesthood and kingship that stands far above the Levitical system.We reflected on how this order was first revealed to Abraham through a personal relationship and the faith he held in the Lord. When Melchizedek met Abraham with bread and wine, it was a revelation of a "Priesthood of the Spirit" that required no genealogy or earthly beginning. This same order was later confirmed through the prophetic oath in the time of King David, pointing directly to the coming of Christ. Because the Levitical priesthood was imperfect and based on physical descent, it had to be superseded by a Priest who holds the power of an indestructible life.We recognized that the tithe Abraham gave and the bread and wine he received were signs of a covenantal transaction based on honor and spiritual life rather than legal obligation. We concluded by interceding and thanking God for the intentionality of His plan, recognizing that Christ did not enter the priesthood through the law of a fleshly commandment, but through the eternal order of Melchizedek. This is the name of God used during the encounter between Melchizedek and Abraham.
