Christ The True and Everlasting Light | 3650 Minutes of Prayer
from Psalms23Wave · host Mathew Sekanjako
This is Day Thirty-Three of 3650 Minutes of Prayer. Today, we meditate on the mystery of Christ as the True and Everlasting Light. We look back to the foundation of the world in Genesis, where God commanded light to shine out of darkness, distinguishing the created lights of the heavens, the sun, moon, and stars, from the uncreated Light of His own presence. We recognize that while the celestial lights were made to govern seasons and days, there is a superior Light that precedes all creation and sustains all life.We connect this to the revelation in John 1, where we see that Christ is the genuine and perfect Light who enlightens every man. In Him was life, and that life was the light of men, a light that the darkness can never overpower, absorb, or extinguish. We stand on the prophetic truth of Isaiah 60, declaring that our days of mourning are ended because the Lord Himself has become our everlasting light and our God has become our glory. Today, we pray to be fully illuminated by this Life-giving Light, walking no longer by the flickering lights of this world but in the eternal radiance of the Son.We now yield to this presence in prayer. We open our hearts to the immersion of the Father’s glory, asking that the Holy Spirit would flood our innermost being with the light of the knowledge of Christ. Let us position ourselves to reflect His majesty, receiving the illumination that drives out all darkness and establishes us in the everlasting day of His kingdom.Prayer & Revelation Scriptures (AMP)Genesis 1:3–5, 14“Then God said, ‘Let there be light’; and there was light. God saw that the light was good (pleasing, useful) and He affirmed and sustained it; and God separated the light [distinguishing it] from the darkness. God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night... Then God said, ‘Let there be light-bearers (sun, moon, stars) in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night, and let them be useful for signs [tokens] and for marking seasons, days, and years.’”John 1:4–5, 9–10“In Him was life [and the power to bestow life], and the life was the Light of men. The Light shines on in the darkness, and the darkness did not understand it or overwhelm it [becoming receptive to it, or appropriate it, or absorb it]... There it was—the true Light [the genuine, perfect, steadfast Light] which, coming into the world, enlightens everyone. He was in the world, and though the world was made through Him, the world did not recognize Him.”Isaiah 60:19–20“The sun shall no more be your light by day, nor shall the brightness of the moon give light to you, but the Lord shall be your everlasting light, and your God shall be your glory and your splendor. Your sun shall no more go down, nor shall your moon withdraw itself; for the Lord shall be your everlasting light, and the days of your mourning shall be ended.”2 Corinthians 4:6“For God, who said, ‘Let light shine out of darkness,’ is the One who has shone in our hearts to give us the Light of the knowledge of the glory and majesty of God [clearly revealed] in the face of Christ.”There is One true God, the Creator of all things, revealed in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. There is One God and One Spirit Who has redeemed us all. I am Mathew Sekanjako, a believer in Christ Jesus (Yeshua HaMashiach), the one Son of God. I serve and confess God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. This intercession is offered in faith, in obedience, and in love, for all who will listen.
