Christchurch mission raises funds as homelessness increases

from Morning Report

The Christchurch Methodist Mission Executive Director says there are at least 270 homeless people on the wait-list for housing, and that number increases by 20 every month. She's one of around 180 people who have spent the night sleeping rough in Christchurch and Blenheim overnight to raise awareness and money for homelessness services. The funds raised will go towards essential items, housing, nursing services and wraparound supports. Ingrid Hipkiss spoke with Mission Executive Director Jill Hawkey.
