Christian and Jewish Persectives on Holiness

Rabbi Yitzchok Adlerstein and Professor Gavin D’Costa came together to agree - and disagree - about the topic of holiness. Yitzchok Adlerstein is an Orthodox rabbi who is Director of Interfaith Affairs for the Simon Wiesenthal Center - a Jewish human rights organisation based in Los Angeles. Gavin D'Costa is Professor in Catholic Theology at the University of Bristol. So what is holiness? How do we live 'holy' lives? Is it part of - or in fact a-part from - our ordinary everyday lives? How does hearing God’s word challenge us to holiness? Is being holy about being human? Or is it part of a 'system of life'? Which of our contributors thinks that "Jesus is a really good Jew"?
