This is a family member going through a tough diagnosis and possibly terminal illness while still being compassionate and understanding that I am not going through that same difficulty? Q2 My family’s broken. I and my children’s mother have never been married and have been separated for a few years now. Together we have two toddlers and joint custody. She has since moved on to someone new in her life. There have been lots of sermons about marriage and even staying single but are there any for those who are struggling with dealing with sharing custody and someone else moving in to take their place of them in the home? I need advice on how to co-parent as a Christian. My hope for reconciliation is super weak. Where can I hear sermons about this situation I’m in? I desperately need help to get through it. Q3 Is it biblically acceptable for a Christian to work undercover in a law enforcement capacity? How does a Christian reconcile the fact that you must misrepresent yourself and lie in order to get close to the bad guys? Can Christians be undercover cops? Is it ok for Christians to lie? Q4 I think people get hung up on the Black National Anthem label instead of listening to the lyrics of the song, Lift Every Voice and Sing. What do you think? Q5 Can believers spank their child? Is it biblical? Q6 Do you stay married in heaven? Do families stay together and still know each other? Are we reunited with our loved ones? Or is this unknown? Q7 After Sunday’s service, I went to visit my grandmother who is very Catholic. Conversations led to differences between the churches including books of the Bible Catholics use that we don’t and the way we do communion. (I understand about the different books because of what you said in service about John 4:22) What verses in the Bible contradict the way Catholics do communion? Is holy communion biblical? Q8 When people demand you use their “preferred pronoun,” should you use preferred pronouns? or call them by their God-given pronouns? What would Jesus do here on earth? Should Christians have preferred pronouns in their social media bios? Q9 The Bible says left-hand doesn’t know what the right hand is doing. In other words, we should not brag about our service to God and others. So what if on a Monday someone asks me what I did this weekend, and I happened to be serving the homeless? What should I say that glorifies God and not myself? Q10 Are there modern-day prophets and apostles? There seems to be a trend with people claiming the titles of apostles, and prophets. I even recently encountered a female “apostle”, as well as someone trying to justify women in leadership roles by saying Junia, from Rom 16 was an apostle. It seems as though the qualification of an apostle, when they drew lots to replace Judas, was that they must have walked with Jesus from the beginning and been an eyewitness to his ministry. Except for Paul, of course. ⬇️⬇️⬇️ Tim Hatch Live: 🎙 The Deep End diving deeper into Faith, Politics, the Bible, and the world.
