Christian? - "Love for Others" I John 4: 7-8 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. 8 The one who does not love does not know God, for God is love. Love is: - commitment without condition - living sacrificially for the good of another #1. A love for God Mark 12: 30 you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength. Matthew 10: 37 He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me; and he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me. #2. A love for fellow believers John 13: 34-35 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another. 35 By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another. I John 3: 14a We know that we have passed out of death into life, because we love the brothers. (ESV) #3. A love for the world I John 2: 15-16 Do not love the world nor the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the boastful pride of life, is not from the Father, but is from the world.
