Christian or Disciple? (Acts 24:16, Matt 7:21-23, 14:18-22)

Are you a Christian or disciple? The question seems odd and has elicited some good discussion. The term "Christian" means many things for different people. For some, it's a biblical understanding of new life in Christ. For others, it's a term describing a group of people they do not want to be like. While first used in Antioch as a term of derision, the followers of Christ used the term "disciple" to self-identify. What's the difference? Is there one?
