Following Jesus can bring ridicule, job threats, or even death when a changed life refuses old sins and speaks openly about Christ. Peter says suffering for Christ should not surprise Christians. Wrongdoing brings no such honour. Human judgement can kill the body, but God gives eternal life through Jesus’ death and resurrection.
