Christine Cassel - Successful Aging - 09/19/00

Christine Cassel joined Mount Sinai Medical Center in 1995 as Chairman of the Department of Geriatrics and Adult Development. Her previous position was Chief of General Internal Medicine at the University of Chicago where she earned a national reputation for her work in bringing together biomedical, ethical, and policy issues in general internal medicine and geriatrics. She is the author of several books, including A Practical Guide to Aging and Ethical Dimensions in the Health Professions. She will explore the changing paradigms of aging, the state of medical care and the impact of future technology on the aging process, and the ability to maintain control of one's life.
