Christine Foreacre Toomey, Astor Home Therapist and Wilderstein Docent, Dies at 83

Christine Foreacre Toomey died on May 28, 2026. She was born on March 22, 1943, in Chester, Penn. She married Bard College Professor John A. Toomey Jr. in 1976.  After graduating from Mount Holyoke College in the 1960s, Chris completed a Master's in Child Development at the University of Pittsburgh. She had a respected career at Astor Home for Children in Rhinebeck from 1969 until her retirement in 2001. In her youth, she was an accomplished equestrian and won hundreds of silver cups and ribbons.
